New Zealand Backs Oyster Industry Infrastructure with NZ$2.8 Million

On 22 October, the government announced a NZ$2.8 million grant to support a 6-hectare oyster relay site, a 3-hectare commercial pilot farm and related vessels, moorings and marine assets in Kaipara. The initiative is intended to help oyster growers manage harvest disruptions associated with water-quality closures and strengthen supply continuity; it is a targeted industry grant, not a contract award to a named equipment supplier.
