New Zealand reported a major milestone in the recovery of State Highway 2 through Waioweka Gorge on 21 October, with a new rockfall protection system installed at the Goldsmith slip site. Two-way traffic was expected to resume in early November. Infrastructure advisers, engineering firms and public-sector contractors can explore opportunities in transport resilience, project monitoring and infrastructure maintenance. The announcement did not disclose a separate contract value for the latest milestone.
